The Land-Dweller is the most significant new line Rolex has introduced in years, and this is the 36mm in White Rolesor: the marriage of Oystersteel and white gold that the maison has used since the 1930s. The intense white dial carries a honeycomb motif cut in-house, set off by a white gold fluted bezel and the new Flat Jubilee bracelet, a reworking of the classic Jubilee in which every link sits flush to form a single continuous ribbon into the case. Beneath the sapphire, visible through the display case back, runs the new-generation calibre 7135 with a silicon Syloxi hairspring and a 66-hour reserve, rated to Rolex's Superlative Chronometer standard. It is a watch that reads as classical at a glance and reveals how modern it is on closer inspection.
